About The Stories We Share

We use this blog and other means to share the stories of people who have visited us at West Cheshire Foodbank.

We work with about 50 different partner organisations that refer visitors to us: charities such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and Salvation Army, housing associations such as Plus Dane and public organisations including schools and social work teams.

Anyone who receives a voucher from us has been assessed by an agency which, by issuing a voucher, confirms that the visitor is in a crisis situation and requires emergency food for their household.

When people visit us, we provide them with emergency food and signpost them to other agencies that can provide further support. At this stage, if visitors are willing to do so, they may share their story with us for publication by West Cheshire Foodbank.

When we share a visitor's story, we can confirm that that person is in a crisis situation and requires emergency food for their household. If we are able to provide more extensive verification, we will make this clear within individual blog posts.

We make it clear to people who are struggling that there is no expectation to share in order to receive food. Some names have been changed and details removed so that people cannot easily be identified.
